ANNA TAYLOR is a queer femme artist, crafter and activist from Halifax Nova Scotia who holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Using embroidery and natural dyes as her primary medium Taylor creates playful works that redefine norms of sexual representation in the belief that craft is the ultimate sumptuous system of radical defiance. Taylor combines craft, sex education and performance into an interdisciplinary art practice exploring sexuality and identity within the confines of culture, commodity and law. Her work has been exhibited throughout Atlantic Canada and internationally in Iceland, Norway and the United States. Her critical reviews have be published in Visual Arts Nova Scotia, Refinery29 and Akimbo. Taylor has worked happily behind the scenes administrating and agitating in the Halifax art and craft community since 2002.
Anna Taylor is the owner of Taylor Made creating radical works of embroidery.
